what adipocytes types & What is adipocytes?

An adipocyte is a fat cell. Adipocytes are found in deposits of fat tissue throughout the body. Special cells also appear to be able to secrete hormones and other chemicals that may play a role in regulation and other aspects of metabolism. The number of adipocytes in the body remains constant, with around 10 of the adipocyte cells being updated every year.

There are two types of adipocytes: white adipocytes and brown adipocytes. White fat cells are involved in fat storage, with many of the cells filled with large oil droplets, and the nucleus that is destroyed against the side of the cell wall. Brown fat cells are used to produce heat for the body, and they have a structure that includes a small amount of oil drops mixed with the cytoplasm of ordinary cells, with the appearance of chocolate due to iron in the mitochondria of cells.

The level of white and brown fat tissue fluctuates with one's maturity. In childhood, there is more brown adipose tissue, especially in infants, and this fat is sometimes referred to as "baby fat." As people get older, brown cells convert to white blood cells. Conversion is usually associated with other physical changes that occur as adults, including the arrangement of fat deposits in the body.

One might wonder why body weight fluctuates if the number of adipocytes remains constant. These cells are able to expand to hold more fat, and also shrink with their depleted fat reserves. White adipocytes will swell to store excess fat when they can get it, form reserves, and when people eat food tightly, cells will release some of their fat that will be seen with the appearance of wrinkles. Thus, people can change the amount of fat stored in their body without actually changing the number of adipocyte cells.

Although adipocytes have been considered an enemy part by legions of dieters, these cells actually play an important role in the body. Fat provides insulation and shock absorption which protects the body's core from damage, and also functions as an energy reserve that can be used when the body does not get enough energy.
